Skippy Junior, a 14-month-old therapy puppy, brings joy and comfort to patients and staff at Sentara Virginia Beach General Hospital.
The beloved pup continues the legacy of a previous therapy dog who served the hospital for eight years. Owned by Robert Norville, Skippy provides emotional support, especially to stressed healthcare workers and patients facing difficult treatments.
Nursing student Raquel Perez and cancer patient Andy Schardein both shared how Skippy’s calming presence helped ease their anxiety. Skippy is even on-call to offer comfort whenever needed, playing a key role in fostering resilience in the hospital community.
