The 28th annual Purina Pro Plan Incredible Dog Challenge kicked off its season at Coachman Park in Clearwater, Florida.
Over 50 top canine athletes from across the country competed in various events, aiming to qualify for the national finals in St. Louis, Missouri, this September.
Among the competitors was Katie Williamson, a high school senior and one of the youngest handlers at the event. She’s been involved in dog sports since 6th grade and described competing on this stage as a dream come true. In the agility competition, she runs alongside her dog, directing them with cues to stay on course and maximize speed. Agility judge Kama Rueschenber explained that a winning run must be both fast and accurate, with no mistakes.
