The inaugural Paws and People Festival in Gulfport, Mississippi, brought pet owners and therapy organizations together this weekend.
The event, held at the Barksdale Pavilion in Jones Park, aimed to raise awareness about animal-assisted therapy. It featured vendors and a membership drive focused on the benefits of therapy dogs, with participants sharing information on how the animals help people facing difficult situations.
Organizers also encouraged dog owners to consider volunteering with their pets and said they hope to make the festival an annual event in Gulfport.
