
Figor, a decorated K-9 officer with the Dallas Police Department, was honored this week as he officially retired from service.
The 4-year-old Belgian Malinois became DPD’s most decorated police dog after more than 200 deployments and 16 apprehensions, earning the Medal of Valor and the Star of Texas.
Figor is best known for a 2023 incident in which he was shot while pursuing an aggravated assault suspect but continued protecting officers despite his injuries.He will now spend retirement with his handler, Senior Corporal Scott Jay, and his family in Ellis County.
