A 12-year-old senior dog in Maryland is beating the odds with a little help from his favorite treat.
Edward, who was rescued as a stray with severe arthritis and spinal problems, was initially given only six to 12 months to live. But more than two years later, he continues to thrive, thanks to ongoing care and his twice-weekly walks to the neighborhood ice cream truck for a vanilla treat.
His family says the outings encourage Edward to stay active and have helped improve his quality of life.
