CVS Pharmacy now offers prescription medications for dogs and cats at approximately 9,000 locations across the United States. The new service expands access to common veterinary medications for pet owners.

To use the service, pet owners can ask their veterinarian to send a prescription to a participating CVS Pharmacy or bring a written prescription to the pharmacy. Eligible medications, including antibiotics, insulin, allergy treatments, and flea and tick medications, can then be filled like other prescriptions.

CVS says the program is designed to make pet healthcare more convenient by allowing customers to pick up medications for themselves and their pets in one visit. In eligible areas, some prescriptions may also be available through home delivery.
