The Horry County Police Department in South Carolina recently celebrated the retirement of K-9 Ori, a 10-year-old police dog who served the department and the community for more than eight years.
During his career, Ori helped track 16 violent suspects and assisted in major drug seizures, including cocaine, methamphetamine, marijuana, and nearly $98,000 in cash. Officers praised his dedication and credited him with helping keep both the public and fellow officers safe.
Following a special retirement celebration, Ori will now enjoy life as a family dog with his longtime handler, Sgt. Brandon Rabon. As Ori begins his well-earned retirement, a new K-9 has joined the department to continue the work he leaves behind.
