Two Wirehaired Vizslas, Zeke and Cinder, are helping bring comfort to patients at Trinity Health's CancerCare Center in Minot, North Dakota.
The certified therapy dogs recently joined the center to provide emotional support during treatments. Owned and handled by Allison Stebbins, Zeke and Cinder completed nearly a year of certification and insurance requirements before beginning their visits.
Patients and staff say the dogs help ease anxiety and lift spirits during appointments. The therapy dog program is expected to expand to other Trinity Health locations as more certified dogs and handlers join the initiative.
