The Somerset County Sheriff’s Office has welcomed Benny, an 18-month-old springerdoodle, as its newest therapy dog. Benny is trained to provide comfort and emotional support to individuals experiencing stressful situations.
Working alongside Detective Jeremy Leal, Benny will assist sexual assault victims during forensic interviews and visit local schools to support students. His calming presence is intended to help children feel safer, more comfortable and less anxious during difficult experiences.
Through his specialized training and certification with Pet Partners, Benny is ready to make a difference in the community, bringing comfort and reassurance to those who need it most.
