A five-month-old shepherd-Malinois puppy is recovering after suffering a violent case of abuse in Long Beach, which has sparked widespread outrage.
Surveillance footage showed a man, later identified as 28-year-old Alexander Cueva, slamming the dog to the ground. He was swiftly arrested for intentional cruelty to an animal.
The puppy is now under the care of Long Beach Animal Care Services and is reported to be alert, energetic, and expected to make a full recovery. The community has shown strong support, with rescuers and residents rallying to help. Once fully healed, the puppy will be placed with a foster family as the investigation continues.
