Animal advocates in Michigan say several recent hoarding and neglect cases are putting pressure on local shelters.
In the past month, authorities rescued more than 200 animals from a farm in St. Clair County, found 95 pets dead and alive on a Genesee County property, and removed over 40 dogs from poor conditions at a Detroit home.
Rescue groups say animals from hoarding situations often require extensive medical and behavioral care before they can be adopted. Advocates urge anyone who suspects animal neglect to report it to local authorities or animal control.
