A dog rescued from the South Carolina wildfires has found a new name and home.
The dog, later named Ember, was spotted near an active fire line on March 27. Emergency responders gave her food and comfort until animal control arrived.
While efforts to find her original family were unsuccessful, Ember was adopted by a firefighter from one of the crews fighting the flames. The firefighter, who provided Ember with care and shelter, will take her to Oregon after the fires are over.
