Meet Bruin: The Rare Clumber Spaniel Named Best in Show at Crufts 2026

Birmingham,
UK -

A four-year-old Clumber Spaniel named Bruin has won Best in Show at the Crufts dog show, held at the National Exhibition Centre.

Owner Lee Cox called Bruin “a dog of a lifetime” after the victory, which drew loud cheers from the audience. The annual competition featured more than 18,600 dogs, including a record 4,299 international entries.

Judges chose the overall winner from champions of seven groups, evaluating dogs on health, structure, movement, and temperament. The reserve Best in Show went to Meghan, a Petit Basset Griffon Vendéen.

Bruin’s breed is listed by The Kennel Club as a “vulnerable native breed,” with fewer than 300 puppies registered each year in the UK.
