A heartwarming rescue story has unfolded in Upstate South Carolina, where a lost dog has led to the recovery of a mother dog and her puppies.
Ellie-Mae, missing since September near Fairplay, SC, disappeared after chasing a squirrel. The Hill family sought help from the local non-profit Anakin’s Trails, which posted flyers and searched using drones and trail cameras.
Two weeks ago, a dog resembling Ellie-Mae appeared on camera, but it turned out to be a nursing mama dog. The Hill family rescued her and her four puppies. Anakin’s Trails added another camera and more food, leading to the discovery of four additional puppies. All eight puppies and their mother, now named Willow, were reunited and are being cared for. They will be up for adoption through The Paw Project. If anyone recognizes Ellie-Mae, they are encouraged to contact Anakin’s Trails.
