The 10th annual New York Dog Film Festival will screen Saturday at 2 p.m. at the GE Theatre at Proctors, featuring a nearly two-hour lineup of 15 dog-themed short films from around the world.
Selected from 64 submissions, the films include animation, documentaries and narratives such as “Brought Back to Life,” about a retired firefighter and a rescue search-and-rescue dog, the comedy “The Golden Retriever Bachelor,” and the memorial story “The Funeral.”
The traveling festival premieres in New York City before touring nationwide, with 10% of ticket sales supporting local dog rescues. The Schenectady screening will benefit the Animal Protective Foundation. The program is family-friendly.
