A heartwarming reunion turned into a brief second adventure for one resilient pup.
Debbie LaFleur was reunited with her Yorkie, Kingston, nearly five years after he disappeared during Hurricane Laura in Lake Charles, Louisiana. He was found 300 miles away at a fraternity house on the University of Southern Mississippi campus in Hattiesburg, where students had renamed him Benji. After checking his microchip, they contacted Debbie, who picked him up with her son.
Just days later, Kingston ran off again during a visit to Buddy Prejean Park. Luckily, KPLC reporter Brendan Brown, who was covering their reunion, helped find Kingston within an hour. Thanks to his microchip, Kingston’s first long journey had a happy ending—and his second only a short chase.
