Macy, an 11-year-old golden retriever from Maui, Hawaii, recently had her dream come true when she came face-to-face with a humpback whale during a boat tour.

A video shared on Instagram shows Macy excitedly barking at the water as a juvenile male whale surfaces nearby. Her owners said Macy has spent years trying to get a whale's attention and finally succeeded.

Raised on boats and now part of the crew at Maui Ocean Adventures—a women-owned whale-watching business—Macy is a beloved local figure. The team invites visitors to stop by the dock to meet their whale-loving canine co-captain.
