A 70-pound dog named Huck is recovering after falling through ice on a frozen pond while his owner was out of town Elgin, in Iowa.
Owner Lizz Johnstone had left a door open due to mild weather, allowing Huck to roam outside. He wandered onto the pond and broke through the ice.
Neighbor Cody Halverson spotted the dog struggling and, with help from his sister-in-law Lori, quickly launched a small boat to reach him. Breaking through thin ice, they carefully approached, grabbed Huck as he lost his grip, and used a burst of adrenaline to pull the soaking wet dog into the boat. Huck quickly recovered after being brought back to shore, and his owner later confirmed he is fully fine.
