A dramatic rescue in Detroit has left a young puppy safe and on the road to recovery after being found trapped inside the chimney of an abandoned home.
Michigan Humane responded to a neighbor’s call and, due to the building’s unstable condition, enlisted the Detroit Fire Department. Firefighters successfully rescued the four-month-old puppy, now named Stack, who is recovering at the Mackey Center for Animal Care and will be available for adoption.
Officials say the rescue highlights the importance of community vigilance and collaboration, crediting the successful outcome to quick action and teamwork among residents, animal welfare workers, and first responders.
