An Oklahoma family is celebrating a miracle after their dog survived nearly two days trapped in the rubble of a home destroyed by an EF-4 tornado in Enid.
The powerful tornado struck a neighborhood south of Vance Air Force Base, damaging around 40 homes and leveling dozens more. At least 10 people were injured, though no fatalities were reported.
Amid the widespread destruction, the family’s dog named Pup was found alive after 44 hours under the debris. The dog had been trapped in a mudroom inside the collapsed home but ultimately survived. As the family begins the difficult process of rebuilding, they say Pup’s survival has brought them hope during a devastating time.
