A woman in Arizona is recovering after a rare bobcat attack, with her 6-year-old German Shepherd, Moses, credited for saving her life.
The incident happened Monday morning during a neighborhood walk when a bobcat suddenly attacked the woman, scratching her arm. As she tried to get her dog to move away, the animal turned its attention to Moses. Moses fought back and killed the bobcat in their driveway. Wildlife officials later confirmed the animal was rabid and believe it may be linked to at least four attacks over the weekend.
Authorities say aggressive bobcat behavior is often associated with rabies, though such incidents are rare. The woman is expected to recover, and Moses will remain under precautionary quarantine despite being vaccinated. Officials are urging residents to report wildlife encounters and seek medical care if bitten or scratched.
