A special-needs dog and cat who bonded while recovering from amputations at a Maryland rescue have been adopted together by a couple experienced in caring for “tripod” pets.
Blueberry, a three-legged French bulldog mix, and Meadow, a three-legged cat, became inseparable while healing at a veterinary hospital operated by Last Chance Animal Rescue. Their story drew widespread attention online after the rescue shared hopes that the pair could find a home together.
The animals were ultimately adopted by a Fort Washington, Maryland, couple who already own another three-legged cat. The pair say they were determined to keep the bonded companions together in their new home.
