Honey, a German shepherd puppy who survived a devastating car accident, made a surprise appearance at Iowa State University’s College of Veterinary Medicine commencement ceremony.
On Christmas Eve 2025, Honey suffered severe skull fractures and a traumatic brain injury after being hit by a car. Over the following months, veterinary students, doctors, technicians, and staff at Iowa State’s Lloyd Veterinary Medical Center worked together to provide the treatment and rehabilitation she needed.
Now nearing the end of her recovery, Honey reunited with many of the people who helped save her life. Her appearance at the ceremony drew cheers from graduates and served as a powerful reminder of the impact veterinary professionals can have on animals and their families.
