Therapy dogs are helping travelers reduce stress at the Roanoke-Blacksburg Regional Airport, where certified therapy teams regularly visit the terminal to provide comfort and companionship.
The program, launched before the 2025 holiday travel season, brings volunteers and their dogs to the airport each week to interact with passengers and create a more welcoming travel experience.
Travelers say therapy dogs such as Lucy Lou, Scout, and Trooper help ease anxiety and brighten their day, making them a popular source of comfort and connection in the airport's busy environment.
