The NHL is bringing back its popular Stanley Pup special on June 8, combining hockey excitement with a mission to promote pet adoption. The family-friendly program features rescue dogs in a playful competition inspired by the Stanley Cup Final.
The 90-minute special will showcase 32 adoptable rescue dogs, each representing an NHL team, competing on a miniature hockey rink. Many of the participating dogs are available for adoption through partner shelters.
Stanley Pup will air on truTV and HBO Max in the United States and on Sportsnet in Canada. The event will also feature appearances by celebrities and NHL players, helping raise awareness about animal rescue and adoption.
