A stray dog named Lexy, an approximately 3-year-old Shar-Pei/Labrador mix, has found a permanent home after escaping a coyote and taking shelter on a parked Lextran bus in Lexington, Kentucky.
The frightened dog hid behind a seat until she was discovered by a transit employee and taken to the Lexington Humane Society. After receiving medical care, shelter staff described Lexy as affectionate, intelligent, and ready for adoption.
Although the humane society initially announced that Lexy was available for adoption, it later confirmed that she had been adopted into a forever home. Her unusual rescue story attracted widespread attention before ending on a happy note.
