Thomas College hosted a K-9 camp that introduced high school students from across Maine to the world of service dog training.
The program gave students hands-on experience working with dogs trained for specialized roles, including firearm detection, therapy support, and earthquake search and rescue. Participants learned about K-9 handling, training methods, and the science behind how working dogs perform their tasks.
The camp also provided an opportunity for students to connect with fellow participants and instructors. Faculty members praised the group for their enthusiasm, curiosity, and active engagement throughout the program.
