A puppy found abandoned near a Henderson animal hospital is recovering from broken bones, severe weight loss, and other injuries.

The puppy, now named Treasure, was found near a dumpster and taken into the care of a local rescue group. Veterinarians later discovered that Treasure had a broken leg, signs of a previous broken jaw, and rocks in his stomach, likely from extreme hunger and neglect. Rescuers are providing medical treatment and helping him regain his strength as he begins his recovery.
