Six-year-old pug Jinny Lu has been crowned the winner of the 2026 World’s Ugliest Dog Contest, held Aug. 14 at the Sonoma County Fairgrounds in Santa Rosa, California.
Jinny Lu beat dozens of uniquely featured dogs to take home the top prize. Adopted through Pug Rescue four years ago, she had competed in the contest several times before finally winning. Her owner, Michelle Grady, will receive $5,000, and Jinny Lu will also appear on a limited-edition MUG Root Beer can.
The contest marked its 50th anniversary, celebrating dogs with distinctive looks while promoting rescue and adoption. Despite its name, the event aims to celebrate individuality and highlight the unique personalities of rescue dogs.
