Bolt, a 3-year-old German shorthaired pointer and explosive detection canine at Dallas Fort Worth International Airport (DFW), has been named the winner of the Transportation Security Administration’s (TSA) 2026 Cutest Canine Contest.
The victory came following a nationwide public vote across the TSA's social media platforms. After defeating competitors in the earlier rounds—including contenders from St. Louis and Orlando—Bolt clinched the top spot
Bolt’s handler, Daphne Wang, attributes his widespread appeal to his distinct features and high-octane personality. “Bolt is the buggiest-eyed 3-year-old German shorthaired pointer you will ever see,” Wang said, adding that he has no off switch and naturally loves going to work. While the annual competition highlights adorable canine contenders, officials note that the event also serves to showcase the vital security work performed by TSA working dog teams to keep travelers safe.
