Service Dog Awareness Month is observed throughout September to recognize dogs that help people with disabilities. These specially trained dogs perform important tasks for their handlers.

Laze is a medical alert dog who helps his handler, Alex de Gunzburg, by providing an added layer of safety. De Gunzburg says a service dog’s breed or size is less important than its temperament and ability to work.
