Park City Police Department K-9 Bruno, the force’s first-ever K-9, is recovering after sustaining severe injuries in the line of duty on Tuesday morning in Utah.

While officers assisted with a suspicious item near the I-80 and U.S. 40 interchange, the 2.5-year-old chocolate Labrador jumped from a freeway overpass. Emergency personnel provided immediate aid before the K-9 was airlifted to a Salt Lake City veterinary hospital.
