A Hawaii family is thanking the community for helping save their 3-year-old dog, Moka, who was diagnosed with a serious heart condition and given less than six months to live.
Moka needed lifesaving pacemaker surgery, prompting a cross-country effort to find specialized veterinary care. With help from the Hawaiian Veterinary Medical Association, Washington State University, and local officials, the family was able to bring him to Washington for the procedure.
Today, Moka is recovering well and back to running on the beach and playing with other dogs. His family credits the support and generosity of everyone involved for giving him a second chance at life.
