Canton Animal Control is investigating after a small dog was reportedly pushed out of a silver SUV and abandoned on a residential lawn along Trayer Road on November 3.
The dog, believed to be a Cairn Terrier mix, was found safe and is now receiving care at the local animal shelter. Officials are working to identify its owner using veterinary records and other leads.
Canton police are asking residents to check home security footage for information that could help identify the driver. The investigation is ongoing, and the dog is not yet available for adoption.
