A couple in Sedona, Arizona, was rescued by helicopter after rising floodwaters trapped them, their dog, and nine guests at their property near Oak Creek Canyon.
Alexander Dale, his wife, and their guests waited about three hours on the roof of their home for rescue. When rescuers initially questioned whether their dog could be lifted without a proper harness, the couple improvised by securing three harnesses together to safely lift him.
Dale and his dog were airlifted to safety together. The rescue took place amid widespread flooding in the area, which forced other residents to evacuate their homes as well.
