Westminster Police Department officers are receiving praise after rescuing a dog trapped inside a burning home in Colorado earlier this month.
Police arrived around 4:20 a.m. MT on May 3 before firefighters and found the homeowner had escaped with one dog, while a second remained inside. Officers entered the smoke-filled residence after the frightened animal ran deeper inside and were able to guide her to safety by the collar.
The dog was reunited with its owner, and Westminster Fire Department later extinguished the fire. No injuries were reported.
