A dog named Lilly, who had been missing for more than five years, has been reunited with her owner after being found in Kansas, thanks to a microchip and the efforts of a local animal rescue organization.
Lilly disappeared in 2021, when she was just nine months old. The pup was eventually found as a stray and taken to Mound City, Kansas, where volunteers with Dirt Road Rescue scanned her microchip. The information led them to her owner, Courtney Short, whose contact details remained up to date despite moving several times.
The rescue organization helped arrange an emotional reunion in Colorado, bringing Lilly and her owner back together after years apart and hundreds of miles of separation.
