
A Florida police K-9 named Boomer is being praised after helping deputies locate a missing 96-year-old man in a wooded area near his home in Lutz, Florida.
According to the Hillsborough County Sheriff’s Office, Ray Cornett was reported missing Saturday and was considered “missing and endangered.” Body-camera video showed Boomer tracking Cornett’s scent from personal belongings before leading deputies through swampy woods about 100 yards from the home.
Deputies found Cornett stuck and unable to move, but he was safe and uninjured. Officials said he was reunited with his family after the successful search. The rescue video quickly gained attention online, with many viewers praising Boomer’s tracking skills and the role police K-9s play in search-and-rescue operations.
