Angus, a trained police K-9 in Salt Lake City, has helped uncover major drug seizures involving fentanyl and methamphetamine, supporting law enforcement efforts to keep dangerous substances off the streets.
According to his former handler, Kevin Murray, Angus was the first dog in Salt Lake City and on a Drug Enforcement Administration task force certified to detect fentanyl. During their three years together, Angus helped uncover cases involving 45 pounds of fentanyl pills, 100,000 pills in another seizure, and 60 pounds of methamphetamine.
Angus now works with a new handler, while Murray continues to visit his former partner. Murray believes Angus’s work may have saved lives, highlighting the vital role police K-9s play in protecting communities.
