A missing child in Prince George’s County, Maryland, was safely found after police launched an extensive search when the youngster wandered away from home.
The incident prompted a coordinated response from local officers and a specialized K-9 team. The three-hour search continued into the evening, with officers checking nearby neighborhoods and wooded areas as they worked to locate the child.
Bloodhound Beau and his handler, Cpl. Jason Carter, followed the child’s scent and helped lead officers to thick brush near the busy MD-210 roadway. The boy, who has an invisible disability, was found safe but tired after spending several hours missing. Police credited the coordinated efforts of patrol officers, detectives and the K-9 unit for bringing the search to a safe conclusion.
