Children who are new or nervous about reading can build confidence by reading aloud to Waffles, a certified therapy dog who provides a calm, non-judgmental audience.

The program, recommended for ages 4–11, includes 10-minute one-on-one reading sessions with Waffles and his handler. Participants must register in advance, with time slots assigned by email; registration opens the Monday before each session and closes Thursday morning.
