Denali National Park in Alaska has relaunched its popular Puppy Cam, offering a live look at the park’s newest litter of future sled dogs.
The five puppies, born March 30, make up what park officials are calling the “America’s Best Idea Litter,” named in celebration of the country’s 250th anniversary. The puppies, Sequoia, Mammoth, Rainier, Teton and Mesa, are being raised as part of Denali’s working sled dog program, the only one in the National Park Service.
Park officials say the dogs will eventually assist rangers in patrolling Denali’s wilderness during harsh Alaska winters, continuing a tradition that dates back more than 100 years.
