The United States Police Canine Association is currently holding its 2026 National Detector Dog Trials from May 3 to May 6 at Stockton University in Atlantic City, New Jersey.
Police K-9 teams from across the United States are competing in detection trials that test highly trained dogs’ ability to locate narcotics and explosives under realistic operational conditions. The dogs, typically working breeds such as German Shepherds, Belgian Malinois and Labrador Retrievers, are evaluated on accuracy, focus and reliability while working closely with their handlers.
The event also serves as a national certification benchmark, reinforcing professional standards for law enforcement canine units.
