A California man fought off a mountain lion after it attacked his 7-year-old Akita, Sasha, outside their home in Glendora.
Owner Kevin Deal said he kicked the mountain lion after finding it biting Sasha’s head, causing the animal to run away. Sasha suffered serious injuries and required multiple stitches but is now recovering.
Wildlife officials say mountain lion sightings in the area have increased this season, partly due to unusually warm weather.
