A puppy once found malnourished and abandoned while tied to a pole in Tennessee has transformed into a certified explosive-detection K-9 after being adopted by a Metro Nashville police sergeant.
Sergeant Mark Woodfin of the Metro Nashville Police Department took in the dog, named Ziva, after she was rescued in poor condition. Woodfin later began training the puppy for police work, guiding her through months of specialized instruction.
According to reports, Ziva successfully completed certification training and now serves as an explosive-detection K-9. Woodfin said the dog’s journey from abandoned puppy to working police dog highlights resilience and the impact of rescue and rehabilitation.
