A Bowie, Maryland family is seeking answers after their 2-year-old Bernedoodle died while boarding at Dogwood Acres Pet Retreat in Davidsonville, Maryland.
The dog became ill during a two-week stay and was later rushed to an emergency veterinarian, where he died. The facility says staff noticed symptoms, monitored the dog, and contacted the owners before his condition worsened rapidly.
The boarding center has suggested a possible severe infection, but the official cause of death has not been confirmed. A necropsy is pending as the family awaits further information.
