A dog abandoned outside Lorain Skate World in Ohio has become the focus of an animal cruelty investigation after surveillance video showed a vehicle dropping him off and driving away while he chased after it.

The dog, a shepherd mix later nicknamed “Skates,” survived on his own for days before being rescued and taken to the Friendship Animal Protective League in Elyria. He is now recovering and adjusting to care in a shelter environment.
