One of the most celebrated graduates in the Hanover High School Class of 2026 walked on four legs.
Lucky, a therapy dog who has served students and staff since arriving as a puppy 12 years ago, received an honorary diploma during the school's graduation ceremony alongside the Class of 2026.
Lucky's owner, Karen O'Hern, works at the school as a speech-language pathologist. Throughout her years of service, Lucky became a familiar and comforting presence for generations of students. Following the ceremony, Lucky officially marked the end of her school career by "signing" a letter of resignation with her paw print, bringing her longtime service to a heartfelt close.
