A dog named Otto was rescued after falling over a steep cliff in Snohomish County, Washington. The dog became trapped about 30 feet below the top of the cliff and was unable to climb back up.
A Snohomish County sheriff’s deputy stayed with Otto for more than two hours to keep him calm while a rescue team prepared to help. The Washington State Animal Response Team then arrived and used ropes and a special harness to safely reach the dog.
The rescue was difficult because of the steep and unstable terrain. Otto even tried to climb up the cliff himself during the rescue. Eventually, rescuers pulled him to safety, and Otto was reunited with his family without serious injuries.
