Maisy, a black Labrador retriever and the first facility dog at a U.S. Attorney’s Office in the U.S., is supporting victims and witnesses in federal cases in central Illinois.
Trained for two years before joining in 2025, Maisy helps reduce stress for people involved in serious cases including violent crime and child exploitation, according to the U.S. Attorney’s Office for the Central District of Illinois.
Officials say her presence helps victims stay calmer and more focused during interviews and court proceedings.
